AI for dentists and medical spas in Charleston
No dental office and no medical spa is in the directory. MUSC Health is a hospital system, not a dental practice. The published rules to read first are the American Dental Association’s AI standards and HHS’s definition of a HIPAA covered entity.

What the directory does not have
A search of the directory turns up no dentist and no medical spa. The healthcare entries are MUSC Health and a cafe inside a Roper St. Francis hospital, Palmetto Market. Palmetto Market is an Amazon Just Walk Out store, not a clinic. The industry page is AI for healthcare in Charleston.
If a Charleston dental office or medical spa has a public source for an AI use, send it through the submit page. It is not listed until that source is checked.
What the ADA has published
The American Dental Association’s page on artificial intelligence in dentistry says standards give a roadmap for evaluating AI by criteria for safety, efficacy, transparency, and fairness. It points to ANSI/ADA Standard No. 1110-1:2025, on annotation and data collection for 2D radiographs used in clinical decision-making. The standard’s own text says ANSI approved it as an American National Standard on January 27, 2025, and that it does not prescribe or endorse a specific AI product. The overview page is ada.org, Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry.
The same ADA page describes White Paper No. 1106:2022, which covers clinical uses and nonclinical ones such as claims processing, and Technical Report No. 1109:2025, which calls for an independent dataset to validate 2D image algorithms and says data and methods need to be private and secure to avoid bias.
Patient information
HHS says the HIPAA Rules apply to covered entities and business associates. Its covered-entity page lists dentists among health care providers, and then limits that list: the provider is a covered entity only if it transmits information in electronic form in connection with a transaction for which HHS has adopted a standard. If a covered entity hires a business associate to carry out health care activities, HHS says there must be a written business associate contract. The page is hhs.gov, Covered Entities and Business Associates.
A medical spa is not given its own rule on that page. If the business is a health care provider and it transmits a standard electronic transaction, that is the definition to take to the practice’s own compliance person. This page is not a legal opinion. Anthropic’s pricing table, read October 16, 2026, lists a HIPAA-ready offering as No on the Free, Pro, and Max individual plans, and Yes on Enterprise. That is one vendor’s table, at anthropic.com/pricing.
Do not paste a chart, an image of a patient, or a name plus a diagnosis into a general chatbot to find out what the tool will do.
A task that is not a diagnosis
The front desk still answers the same non-clinical questions. Hours, parking, and what to bring. Write those answers down and mark anything clinical for a person. A template is front desk questions and handoffs. MUSC’s Emily entry is a hospital-scale version of the same idea, and SoundHound’s number of 2.2 million interactions a year is the vendor’s.
