The local company

Blackbaud is on Daniel Island. The directory says it rolled out 70+ AI features for nonprofits, including AI-written reports and agents for fundraising work, and it marks that count as company-reported. The source is Blackbaud’s own newsroom post. A small nonprofit in Charleston is not the same thing as the company that sells the software.

A vendor discount, not a local result

OpenAI’s pricing page, read October 16, 2026, says: “Through OpenAI for Nonprofits, nonprofits can now access up to a 75% discount on ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise.” It says to contact sales. That is OpenAI’s offer. It is not a count of Charleston nonprofits on the plan. chatgpt.com/pricing.

Grants, and a free workshop that is not an AI class

The SBA grants page says SBA provides grants to nonprofits, Resource Partners, and educational organizations for counseling and training programs. It also says SBA does not provide grants for starting and expanding a business. A nonprofit that wants to teach entrepreneurship is a different applicant from a shop that wants software. Read AI grants and SBA help before you pay anyone who says they can get you an SBA AI grant.
