FAQ page into chatbot pairs
Updated
Problem it solves
A chatbot is only as good as the answers you already stand behind. The FAQ page is the raw material.
Best tool
- ChatGPT (free chat)
- Claude (free chat)
- Gemini (free chat)
- Copilot (free chat)
The free chat is enough for one draft. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and the free Microsoft Copilot chat can each do this. A paid plan only helps if you hit a usage limit. Copilot inside Word, Excel, or Outlook is a separate paid Microsoft 365 feature. You do not need it to try this once.
Copy-paste prompt
Turn our FAQ page into a chatbot knowledge base: short Q&A pairs, plus a list of questions that should always go to a staff member: [paste FAQ]
Replace every [bracket]. If you cannot fill one, delete that line.
Example output
A usable draft is a set of short question-and-answer pairs taken from your FAQ, and a separate list that always goes to a person. Refunds, safety, and complaints belong on that second list unless you wrote a different rule.
Tips
- Paste the FAQ you already published. Do not ask the tool to invent new policy.
- The towns note tells owners to mark questions that always go to staff. Keep that list.
Time saved
Estimate: reformatting a page you already wrote is a short editing job. Deciding the handoff list is the part that takes judgment.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt. Copy the prompt on this page into a free chat.
- Fill every bracket. Replace each [bracket] with a fact from your own notes. If you cannot fill one, delete that line instead of guessing.
- Edit before you use it. Read the draft against your notes. Delete any price, date, name, or promise you did not supply. You decide what gets sent.

Paste your list into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and ask: “Turn this into short Q&A pairs for a chatbot, plus a list of questions that should always go to a staff member.” That document is the hard part of any chatbot. The software is the easy part.
