One-offer email

Updated

Problem it solves

Promo emails get long and vague. You need one offer, one action, and a way to say what the offer is not.

Best tool

  • ChatGPT (free chat)
  • Claude (free chat)
  • Gemini (free chat)
  • Copilot (free chat)

The free chat is enough for one draft. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and the free Microsoft Copilot chat can each do this. A paid plan only helps if you hit a usage limit. Copilot inside Word, Excel, or Outlook is a separate paid Microsoft 365 feature. You do not need it to try this once.

Copy-paste prompt

Write a short email about one offer. Subject line, then under 120 words. Use only these facts. Do not add urgency, a discount, or a testimonial.

Who it is to: [past customers / neighbors / the list you actually have]
Business: [name]
Offer: [what it is, the price if you want it public, and when it ends if it ends]
What they should do: [reply, call, or visit]
What the offer is not: [limits]

Replace every [bracket]. If you cannot fill one, delete that line.

Template

Subject: [subject]
Hello [name or "there"],
[one sentence on the offer]
[price and end date only if true]
[one sentence on how to take it]
[your name]
[business]
[town]

Example output

A usable draft has one subject, one offer, and one action. It does not say “act now” unless you wrote an end date.

Tips

  • If there is no end date, tell the draft not to invent one. The bracket above is where that fact goes.
  • Send it only to people you have a reason to email.

Time saved

Estimate: one email is a few minutes of editing. The list and the offer are the decisions, and they are yours.

How to use it

  1. Copy the prompt. Copy the prompt on this page into a free chat.
  2. Fill every bracket. Replace each [bracket] with a fact from your own notes. If you cannot fill one, delete that line instead of guessing.
  3. Edit before you use it. Read the draft against your notes. Delete any price, date, name, or promise you did not supply. You decide what gets sent.
