Open house follow-up

Updated

Problem it solves

The sign-in sheet is a pile of names by Sunday night. Monday needs one clear note.

Best tool

  • ChatGPT (free chat)
  • Claude (free chat)
  • Gemini (free chat)
  • Copilot (free chat)

The free chat is enough for one draft. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and the free Microsoft Copilot chat can each do this. A paid plan only helps if you hit a usage limit. Copilot inside Word, Excel, or Outlook is a separate paid Microsoft 365 feature. You do not need it to try this once.

Copy-paste prompt

Write one follow-up email for people who came to an open house. Under 120 words. Include the address and one next step. Do not say the house is about to sell unless that fact is below.

Address: [address]
Open house date: [date]
Next step: [a question, a link to the listing, or another time]
Fact I will stand behind: [one fact or "none"]
Sign off: [name]

Replace every [bracket]. If you cannot fill one, delete that line.

Example output

A usable draft is one email you can send to the list, with the address and a single next step. No fake urgency.

Tips

  • Use it only for people who signed in. Do not turn it into a blast to a list they did not join.
  • If you personalize, do that part yourself. The draft is the common version.

Time saved

Estimate: the common email is a few minutes. Personal lines for each guest are extra and are not in this estimate.

How to use it

  1. Copy the prompt. Copy the prompt on this page into a free chat.
  2. Fill every bracket. Replace each [bracket] with a fact from your own notes. If you cannot fill one, delete that line instead of guessing.
  3. Edit before you use it. Read the draft against your notes. Delete any price, date, name, or promise you did not supply. You decide what gets sent.
